How did you meet?
I first met Nick when I decided to try out a nearby church when I was a sophomore at LSU. He was the cute drummer boy in the band and we had some mutual friends that went there as well. I talked my best friend into setting us up for an upcoming sorority event we had, but when I asked him he said he wouldn’t be able to make it. To make up for it he took me on a date to Rips on the Lakefront and the rest was history! We still go out to eat at Rips to celebrate where we first met.
Was there a favorite moment from your wedding day?
Our favorite moment from the wedding had to be the first touch. I knew I didn’t want to do a first look but when Emily came to me with the idea of the first touch I thought it was such an awesome idea! It was so special to be able to talk to each other and share how excited we were to get married. We didn’t talk to each other that whole day before the first touch so it was something we’ll always remember.
Why did you choose your wedding venue?
After looking at a couple of other venues, we kept coming back to Maison Lafitte and couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful it was. The idea of getting married in the same place we had our first date seemed so special, so the Lakefront will always have a place in our hearts.
What were your wedding colors?
Green(lots of greenery)and dusty rose!
Did anything fun or unusual happen on your wedding day?
I’m sure I can speak for everyone planning or getting married during this time and say there were a lot of unusual things about our wedding day! It definitely was not what we had planned a year ago but it did bring a lot of clarity as to what we want as a couple. At the end of the day, we just wanted to be married. After all the craziness of re-booking and re-scheduling, we made the decision to go through with a much more intimate wedding. This was the best decision we could have made and it will be a day we will never forget.
Why did you choose ESP?
From the start of hearing about Emily’s work to actually working with her, she has exceeded my expectations and more of having a wedding photographer. The first time I got to meet her in person was for our engagement session. I was so nervous because I have never gotten professional photos taken but she made it so much fun and made the both of us feel so comfortable. We left the session wishing it wasn’t over because she’s just an awesome person to be around. When the time came to reschedule our original wedding date, Emily was the first person I contacted because I knew she was the one I did not want to lose the most. She has stuck with me through all the craziness this year has brought and we were so blessed to have her capture the best day of our lives. It was a long road and I couldn’t have picked a better person to work with during this crazy time!
