Holy. Moly. What a year. 2018 was crazy/awesome/bananas/s'much fun. We welcomed our baby girl into the world and I tirelessly grew this small business into something I'm super proud of. And holy-personal-growth. Learning how to maintain work/life/newborn balance is nearly impossible when you are essentially working from home. I wore yoga pants for 95% of the year and have gone through more bottles of dry shampoo (and wine) than I'm willing to admit. BUT - whew - it was worth it. I stretched myself, I got out of bed, I stayed up late, and woke up early. I did it all because I know the work I put it now is preparing me/us/my beautiful family for incredible things to come.
So with the new year - I wanted to treat myself to a fully styled shoot - doing and photographing everything that I love. Don't get me wrong - I love photographing my amazing clients! I love how they style their day and their shoots to reflect their personalities. It's beautiful documenting someones authentic life and loves - but it's so good for my soul to spend a little time putting together things that make me do my 'hell yea' dance behind the camera. :)
This year we also purchased a new (100 year old) home and it was true love-at-first-sight. It's simple, and charming, with yummy morning light and character for days. So I knew I wanted to start the shoot there and end it at a big open field, with minimal color, and a bride that could model all the boho vibes I was dreaming of.
So check out all of the goodness below. I hope this shoot gives you a little glimpse into my wanna-be-hippie heart.
